About The Shepherd’s Call

This seems like the appropriate time and place to introduce ourselves. We are Paul and Teri Savage, Innkeepers of The Shepherd’s Call.

God spent several years preparing us for this journey. While attending Teri’s grandmother’s funeral in the Hill Country in 2004, God planted a seed in our hearts about building a place for ministers to retreat from the cares of every day life in full-time ministry. Over time, God miraculously provided a beautiful piece of property on the side of a hill overlooking what most Texans refer to as the Hill Country.

After spending several years working in Houston for NASA and government contractors, and raising two beautifully talented children, Kristi and Nathan, we accepted the call and have never looked back. It gives us great joy to open our home and our hearts to the men and women of God. We are honored when you choose to spend time at The Shepherd’s Call and pray that God will use your time here to speak to your heart and meet your every need.

It is our delight to extend southern hospitality to all who visit, and Teri is well-known for her gift of gourmet meals. If you walk away from our kitchen table hungry, it’s your own fault because we believe in preparing the very best for God’s servants.

Our love for preserving God’s nature is evidenced from the time you drive onto the property. We have witnessed numerous types of birds and other animals since we moved here. We count it a blessing to wake up in the morning with deer feeding outside the windows and again in the evening as the sun begins to set.

We look forward to seeing you, and we’ll keep a pot of coffee brewing and the rocking chairs on the porch ready for you. Our prayer is that God will restore, renew, rejuvenate and refill you with His anointing, and that you won’t leave here like you came, in Jesus’ name.
